Rebel-Weekword

At least I got this out at some point today-sorry this has been a week of upheaval and turmoil for my husband's family, one of the main reasons why we are out in Cleveland, Ohio this week enjoying the thunderstorms and tornado last night. I totally had plans to take pictures of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for our word this week, but I'm only along for the ride in most cases this week and just didn't make it in time. When I first thought of this word, I figured it would be easy enough to work with, I mean come on, who hasn't enjoyed "Rebel Without a Cause" or wanted to be viewed as a rebel in those angsty teenagery days. My problem is that I was most definitely viewed by my family as a rebel during those wonder years, but it was more on an emotional/verbal level and never had much to do with rebellious actions....no funny stories to tell later kinda thing.

I'll be back to show pictures of my own story today-the story I plan to make worth telling later. I promise I'll find a way to be a rebel for the day!

Please check in with all the wonderful ladies who decided to participate this week and see what they have up their sleeve for rebeling!

UPDATE:

So ladies, here's my rebel, though it really wasn't mine.

I've waited all day for something to come to me, something to show what this word would mean to me, and with all the stress and strain of family tension, it's been hard to concentrate on much. We went to a private semi-triple A game this evening for a bit of a get away from the big old "C" word that has been hanging in the air, and got ourselves some ultra posh seats for a whooping $18 dollars a piece. I expected to find the players to be a rebellious crew, but rather than that, the weather decided to show me who was boss.

When we arrived, the weather was a balmy 94 degrees with 90% humidity and just a few paltry clouds:

As we sat in the balcony seats all by our little selves at this adorable stadium in Avon, Ohio watching the local Crushers get crushed, there came a rolling, rumbling, stream of ominous clouds into our view.

It was an amazing display of the power of the elements, and what was promising to be a night of baseball and fireworks became a night of torrential rain and huge lightning strikes.

What a way to end our weekword!

  3. Awesome ladies, hey Hennie, you want to make that a word for everyone this week? I need to pass the torch on ya know :) Thanks so much for the comfort, lots of highs and lows up ahead, but lots of love in the air makes it so much better. Big hugs to you both for being part of that "aroma of love"

  5. Hi! I posted my Weekword, but have only 1 taker so far. Are you supposed to do a post that I am the new Wordsmith? Or am I supposed to let Aimee know (is it her game, sort of?). Not sure how to "publicize" the game, ha ha! Any tips?

  6. I also had a week of similar family turmoil. There's nothing as beautiful as a stormy sky to put it all in perspective. What a great photo. I hope the skies have cleared a bit in your world. Thanks for hosting and choosing such a great word.
