From the smallest weed defiantly spreading its leaves from the cracks in the sidewalk
to the bending trunk of a Queen Palm in a hurricane-plants are sturdy little go getters :)
I fall in love every time I touch a craggy old oak that has long withstood the bitter blade of a farmers scythe and the interminable passage of seasons that alter the world all around them.
and the California coast wouldn't be nearly as austerely ruggedly beautiful without the Monterey Cypresses that cling to the rocky outcrops like castaways trapped on a forbidden shore.
Life, in all it's varying forms, has so much to teach me every moment of every day and I'm so glad I wrote this post to remind myself that all I have to do is be quiet for a moment, stop, listen, and let go.
Please visit Mary and John who were also playing this week and thanks again for a great word Mary!

Great post Carmen and definately worth the wait! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! I have a weed in my driveway that will not stop coming back over and over.
ReplyDeleteI'm preparing for Hurricane Irene and writing a post about it. I hope I don't have winds like that. (biting fingernails)
