Election night playlist

Well it's the happy heroic all too patriotic day of reckoning for those of us in the United States and I gotta say, I'm completely exhausted after this last election cycle. My nerves are shot.  My hackles have been raised so many times over unbelievably crass, anti-woman, xenophobic, chauvinistic, bigoted, all over shitty things spewing out of elected representatives mouths on a weekly basis. I've heard more self-serving flat out lies than I think a classroom of 4 year olds tell, felt the doom of what will happen if Candidate A, or Proposition X wins and imposes their said Agenda Z on us all, and given money to more emergency "You must protect this resource, or it will be destroyed forever and ever and ever!!!" requests then I care to even think about. I'm totally, and utterly spent, and ready to welcome the ending of the world as we know it, or celebrate the jubilation of the "Light Bringer" (depending on which Candidate you think gives two shits about what you care about rather than is trying to take your shit away). I'm full of expletives tonight in random and banal usage because I just don't care....I really don't, I just want this torture over.

So, in the spirit of celebrating freedom from the commercials and the signs and the platforms and the talking heads on cable stations yapping about more garbage that makes me feel like I'm living to see the utter destruction of every social movement in the last 100 years, I'm gonna listen to some music.

Speaking of music, this is going to range from redemption and hope, to anger and a good ol' middle finger to the Government in the spirit of being an American--we're pretty lucky folks really that we get to tell our government officials where to stick it if we don't like what they're doing. They don't have to listen, but I'm thankful, so so thankful, to have the right to vote and to be able to say what I think of that without fear of harm. So to all of you out there, do you have songs that make you in the "Exercising Your Rights" mood?

This is just a few songs that work for me tonight, while I wait for the exit polls to come in, and contemplate tomorrow, and the next day, and how we all keep going-every day, no matter who is in power.

WARNING! Just like my foulmouthed post, there are a few songs here that might not be for those who are sensitive to the use of expletive language. But they're good :)
