Weekword=Interest by John

I will tell you something I'm sure you've all figured out by now; I just don't know how to have enough time to pay attention to everything I need to in the days. It's like I need 5 more hours to the day, though really, I'm so mentally exhausted by the time I hit the bed, I can't even stay up long enough to do a little joyful reading, let alone my homework. So much just seems to pull at me, and though I know I'm no different than anyone else, I just feel like I'm furiously laying down the tracks in front of the train, praying to just make it a little bit longer.

All this is to say that I'm sorry I am so very very late for John's weekword, when he so happily took the time to email me and implore me to participate in a habit I dearly miss and love. He chose interest to pique our interest in this ritual of blogging that was started more than two years ago and where I picked it up was Artsyville (who's owner has long since fallen off the Weekword radar). It's a lovely reminder to stop the hectic rushing and visit people who have very different worlds and very different lives, to see their interpretation of words-the mundane to the exotic. Fanciful and luxurious, restrictive and persnickety; communication through words is one of our basic pleasures that we avail ourselves of as soon as our bodies will allow us to as mere toddlers. Words are what define us. So it's no surprise that interest is a very interesting word to try and get us rejuvenated with.

I think perhaps my problem, if you could call it a problem, is that I have too many interests. I am interested in so many many things, it's impossible to measure, other than to say I have a sheer love of perpetuating and accumulating knowledge. My interests run the gamut of: beer/wine tasting, native plant gardening, culinary flying mammal catching, ancient art history pondering, soap making, text based multi user dungeon game playing, microbial culture identifying, and imagining, and hoping, and dreaming.

Thanks John, for reminding me to stop and take an interest in this connection. Please visit him for other players and Elena for the new word for this week!

  2. Hi Biomouse! Thanks for the supportive and kind comment on my blog. I am not quite as bad as I was, I'm incrementally improved, but it's been 6 1/2 weeks of pain so far with no immediate end in sight. Also, I'm pretty much incapacitated from doing things.

    I haven't done my post for interest yet and was thinking about it. Still.
