Hosting Weekword! Mercurial Monday

Greetings ladies and gentleman!

I am enjoying my last day of freedom from the impending stress and strain of another semester helping young minds expand, and very much aware of the beautiful words of Martin Luther King, Jr. whom I have this day off to thank. I considered strongly going with a word this week that would sum up his visions and hopes for our country and the world, in honor of his sacrifices, but I think I need a wee bit of a mind break from the intensity of my last weekword post (leave it to me to bring the militant enviro vibe into everything)  and decided to revel in something a little less intense :)

The question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be.   ~~Martin Luther King Jr.

So today, I'd like to tune into my more flighty, hyper, silly mode, as well as speak to my love of a good story (rereading Once and Future King for easily the 20th time). I'm bouncing round the house, singing along to my Pandora punk/80's pop/progressive bluegrass station (lots of P's!), thinking of Bacchus while I plan what bottle of vino to open for dinner, conjuring Aphrodite's beauty in the mirror hoping she can erase a few frown lines, and happily tinkering in my head about the connectivity of the worlds many mythologies; how they all assign meaning for the briefest moments of the time that we have on this spinning planet.

I think mercurial just feels right given my mood and buzzing little mind, and it's such a fun word to say. I would love it if everyone would join me this week to play and inject some frivolity into our Weekwordiness games-I'm so happy to host this week! For those who are new to Weekword or haven't participated in the past, I really encourage you to give this a try when you can, it's been a huge connective joy for me on so many levels, and has led me to finding so many wonderful souls out there blogging their own little hearts away :)

So here are the rules (I swear there aren't many)!

For those of you who haven't played before or just like a little refresher on the basic rules, here it goes:

All you have to do for Weekword is to share in any creative outlet you would like-painting, writing, poetry, lyrics, music, photos, collage, mixed media, drawing,  verse, dialogue, videos, anything really-your interpretation of that week's word on your blog. Let the host (this week is me) know you'd like to play in their comments, the host will post everyone's links on Friday (sometimes Saturday for us really not good with deadline folks) and voila, you're in!

Have a wonderful week all and thank you for swinging by!

  6. Oh John I'm thrillled!!!! You know it's been a buzzing little wonder amongst us weekwording ladies why we just don't see men all that often in blogging and have never gotten a gentleman to join us in weekwording-I'm delighted!! I'll link you up with the group on Friday and pop on over to see your blog just as soon as I can get things here at work to simmer down today :)

  7. @Mary, so glad you liked the music-The Greencards are uber talented and so much fun to see live. I actually caught them in Peninsula, Ohio in November when I went back there to see my father-in-law before he passed. It was the highlight of a stressful but loving trip. Hope you are feeling better!
