Weekword=Observe by Junebug

Junebug is back and starting her happy return to Weekwording with an excellent word that I thoroughly enjoyed doing. Friday I decided to go to lunch with a friend and ease into the weekend with a wander through Midtown Sacramento. I lived in the Midtown area for years-relishing the public art, funky shops, craftsman homes and victorian 2 stories split into apartments, and the best foodie spots in town. So here is my day of observing a little life in Midtown-check out other Weekworders at Junebug's spot and do join us!

This guy was carrying an old school ghetto blaster one block from the Capital. So so awesome!

This made me immediately want a mean mo fo cupcake. Damn you vegan diet!!

Near the Sutter's Fort, a mother and daughter were trying to figure out  directions. Daughter is clearly annoyed-it made me laugh in memory of those very same feelings.

The state flower peeking through the scrubby grass next to J street

Signs of love in a beautiful old sycamore

I need to remember to touch trees more often to center myself.

This gentleman was sitting at Sutter's Fort, playing his banjo near the fountained ponds, and enjoying the quiet natural space smack in the middle of city's  metropolitan center.

I adore oak leaves and sunshine.

This man had an American flag attached to his bike and was singing a great 80's tune as he rode by. He offered a wonderful toothy smile, and I returned the gesture with pleasure.

Observation? That the state seal has a mammal on it that is extinct. California grizzlies were a more docile subspecies than their family members in the upper Northwest.

Human Rights Campaign as a license plate addition-brilliant!

I adore old religious architecture even if I'm in no way interested in the teachings incased within the structures.

I saw this lovely little porch with the wooden rocking chairs and thought it looked like an excellent place to sit and drink some tea and watch the world go by.
